Giving Back Through the Game
Scott M. Heaps, owner of Clearview Home Remodeling, has been an active part of the local community for more than 20 years, particularly through youth sports. Throughout that time, he has made it a priority to give his time to the young athletes and teams in his community.
Scott has coached youth softball for over two decades, serving as both a head coach and a pitching coach. Even with the responsibilities of running Clearview Home Remodeling, he continues to find time to get out on the field.
Family has always been important to Scott. As a proud father of two daughters and a grandfather, he has always made time to be involved in the lives of the people closest to him. What started as a way to support his daughters eventually became something Scott continued long after they grew up.
Scott also spent more than 10 years coaching youth basketball, including coaching his daughters’ teams as they grew up playing the sport.
Today, he sponsors his granddaughter’s youth softball team and continues to coach. After all these years, Scott now gets to share something he has enjoyed for so long with his granddaughter.
Scott most enjoys watching young players develop confidence, learn teamwork, overcome setbacks, and discover what they're capable of. To him, sports teach values that will serve young people long after a season is over: teamwork, discipline, determination, accountability, and resilience.
More than two decades later, Scott is still coaching and still finding time to be involved. He is proud to have shared the experience with his daughters, to now share it with his granddaughter, and to continue giving his time to the young players in his community.
