Fortis Windows Seamlessly Combine State-of-the-Art Engineering with Elegant Design
At Clearview Home Remodeling we proudly offer a wide selection of vinyl replacement windows, including the Fortis series, our mid-level option. Fortis windows provide the ideal combination of innovative engineering and stylish design, making them an excellent choice for homeowners throughout the country.
Innovative Engineering
We offer Fortis windows as our mid-level series, but theyre far from average. They are equipped with a number of state-of-the-art engineering components, including the following, that set them apart from other home windows on the market:
- VyCore foam insulation in the frame and sash for added insulation
- A tight, mortise-cut sill dam wall for enhanced structural integrity and reduced air and water infiltration
- An interlocking sill and sash for increased wind resistance
Fortis windows are so strong and durable that theyve achieved an R50 performance grade, a rating that considers factors such as structural performance, resistance to air infiltration, and resistance to water penetration. In fact, theyve even been demonstrated to stand up against a 171-mph wind load, making them 180 percent stronger than the minimum requirement for the industry.
Stylish & Customizable Design
Its equally important to choose replacement windows that will beautifully complement the style of a home and reflect the homeowners personal tastes. Fortis windows feature thick VyCore foam insulation, but the frames are anything but bulky in fact, the Fortis series features one of the thinnest, most aesthetically pleasing frame designs available today.
Homeowners will also love Fortis windows because they can customize them to suit their personal preferences. Theyll be able to select from a wide variety of window styles, including bay, double hung, garden, hopper, picture, and sliding. They can also choose from various exterior colors, which are applied using our exclusive VyCoat exterior coating system. With regard to the window interiors, homeowners can choose between two interior colors (white or beige), as well as our VyWood interior laminate option. And, theyll be able to select from various window grid designs (in addition to flat and contoured grids, Fortis windows are available with simulated divided lite grids).
And, homeowners who opt for Fortis windows can choose to upgrade to our Energy Saver Max or Energy Saver Ultimate glass packages. While Energy Saver Plus windows are double-paned with one pane of high-performance Low-E glass, Energy Saver Max and Energy Saver Ultimate windows are triple-paned and include two panes of high-performance Low-E glass. Energy Saver Ultimate windows also feature a krypton gas-filled insulated glass unit, while the other two options each include argon gas insulation.
Features & Options
Window Styles
Bay & Bow
Bay windows include three window panes, which project outward from the side of a house. The center pane is typically inoperable, while the two side panes can usually be opened and closed. Bow windows are similar to bay windows, in that they also project outward, but they include more window panes, creating a curved look.
Homeowners love bay and bow windows because of the elegance they bring to a room. Their outward projection visually enlarges the area and allows for more natural light to filter in. The configuration of the panes also creates a shelf area, which homeowners can use to display picture frames, plants, and other dcor. Plus, because bay windows can typically be opened on both sides, they allow for outstanding ventilation.
Hopper
Vytex Windows proudly manufactures and installs top-of-the-line hopper windows. Our hopper windows are available as one of the many styles in our mid-level Fortis vinyl replacement window series. Similar to casement- and awning-style windows, hopper windows pivot open on a hinge. But, while casement windows are hinged on the side, and awning windows are hinged at the top, hopper windows have hinges on the bottom. And, while casement and awning styles both open outward, away from the house, hopper windows tilt inward.
Hopper windows are commonly installed in small, hard-to-ventilate areas, like bathrooms and basements. This is because the entire hopper window can be opened at one time (compare this to double hung and sliding windows, which can only be partially opened). The configuration of hopper windows allows for maximum air ventilation using only a small amount of wall space. Hopper windows are also a popular choice for basements because the tilting angle prevents dirt and other debris from entering the home. And, because they tilt inward, they dont provide any obstruction to walkways or landscaping.
Double Hung
Double Hung WindowsVytex Windows proudly manufactures and installs state-of-the-art double hung windows available in our Potomac-hp, Fortis, and Georgetown window series. Our double hung windows include impressive features that set them apart from the competition, such as a stainless-steel Constant Force balance system that allows for fingertip operation, making them up to 50 percent easier to operate than windows with other balance systems. Plus, with an integral interlocking system keeping them closed tight, our double hung windows are an excellent choice for homeowners concerned about security and weatherproofing.
Garden
Vytex Windows a leading manufacturer and installer of vinyl replacement windows is pleased to include picturesque garden windows in our Potomac-hp, Fortis, and Georgetown window series. Garden windows are similar to bay and bow windows they feature multiple panes of glass and project outward from the side of a house but theyre typically smaller and built in a more rectangular configuration using 90-degree angles.
Many homeowners enjoy having garden windows installed above their kitchen sink, where they provide lots of light and beautiful peripheral views of landscaping. True to their name, garden windows create the perfect spot to house herb gardens, potted plants, and other dcor. Plants will get plenty of light and, if theyre located above the kitchen sink, have easy, convenient access to water. Plus, with plants and dcor off the counter, homeowners will enjoy added space for other kitchen tasks.
Picture
Picture WindowsVytex Windows is the company to choose for top-of-the-line vinyl picture windows. Picture windows are typically large, inoperable, and built in a square or rectangular shape. Unlike bay, bow, and sliding windows, which each include multiple panes of glass, a picture window contains just one pane. We offer picture windows as an available style in our Potomac-hp, Fortis, and Georgetown window series.
Picture windows provide various benefits to homeowners. Because there is often nothing obstructing the glass or breaking apart sightlines, picture windows allow in a huge amount of natural light and provide spectacular views of the outdoors. Although some homeowners are hesitant to invest in picture windows because theyre concerned about sufficient ventilation, this issue is easily solved by adding accompanying windows that can open and close. Casement and double hung windows are popular choices to go alongside a picture window, and some homeowners also choose to have awning windows installed above.
Sliding
Vytex Windows a family-owned and -operated company thats been manufacturing and installing top-quality vinyl replacement windows since 1988 is pleased to offer state-of-the-art sliding windows as part of our Potomac-hp, Fortis, and Georgetown window series. Similar to double hung windows, sliding windows open and close by gliding along a track. But, whereas double hung windows include a vertical track allowing them to move up and down, sliding windows feature a horizontal track that allows them to move from side to side.
